Anegada

In particular, it is an island of coral sand, and its beaches are the most beautiful in the Caribbean. The northernmost of the British Virgin Islands, it is located approximately 24 km north of the island of Virgin Gorda. The island is essentially flat and low, and its highest point reaches only 8.5 m above sea level, which has earned it the nickname "land of the drowned". It is separated from Sombrero Island of Anguilla by the Anegada Passage Strait. It covers an area of 38 square kilometers, making it the second largest island in the British Virgin Islands. Furthermore, it is sparsely inhabited and the population is just 200 people. Its characteristic are the beaches, where it is possible to walk for about 20 km on the sand, and the coral reef on which you can see the sun disappear into the waves. Anegada is also a paradise for divers and snorkelers.
