The Canary Islands: a paradise to visit 365 days a year

If you don't know the Canary Islands you are missing out on a true paradise on earth. It is a Spanish archipelago located in the Atlantic Ocean, not far from Morocco, i.e. the north-western coast of Africa, at a latitude equal to that of the Caribbean and Hawaii. In the Canary Islands you will find a subtropical climate, this means that there is intense sun all year round and rainfall is very low. Temperatures vary between 20°C in January and 26°C in August, so thanks to this mild climate throughout the months, finally the Canary Islands are ideal for visiting by sailing boat at any time of the year.

7 volcanic islands to discover

What will you see when traveling on a sailing boat or catamaran in the Canary Islands? The Atlantic Ocean, which washes the immense beaches with white and black sand, and the wild nature, where the silence will make you lose yourself in its colours. The Canary Islands are volcanic islands and are 7: Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro. 1,500 kilometers of coastline between cliffs, dunes and a variety of landscapes that satisfy everyone's tastes. From the sea to the mountains, traveling by sailing boat or catamaran in the Canary Islands will allow you to enjoy the relaxation of the beaches, windsurfing or sailing, but also trekking, canyoning or climbing.

Tenerife

Tenerife is unique and full of possible excursions to undertake once you rent a boat. With its microclimates, winter in the north and summer in the south, the island is perfect for a sailing holiday in the south. We recommend a visit to Teide National Park for unique excursions. In the north you can instead visit tropical forests with flora never seen before, while the south is more desert and many beaches are volcanic. If you are looking for beaches to visit in the south of the island we highly recommend a stop in Los Cristianos, a meeting point for many tourists, and on the opposite side, still on the south coast, Los Gigantes. This coast is dotted with rocky cliffs that alternate with white or pitch black sand beaches. From Tenerife, you can take the rental boat of your choice and undertake numerous excursions to the other islands of the Canary archipelago. We recommend setting a course for Gran Canaria, then heading to Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.

Gran Canaria

Located in the Atlantic Ocean, it is part of the province of Las Palmas together with Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and La Graciosa. Gran Canaria is one of the Spanish tourist destinations par excellence, thanks to its wide beaches combined with a wonderful cultural, recreational and gastronomic offer. The beaches of Las Canteras and Maspalomas are a must for all travelers who decide to visit the island. What if you could explore them from a unique perspective? Climb aboard one of our boats and enjoy the panoramic view of the island, from the sea! Boat rental in Gran Canaria will be an unforgettable experience. Don't miss this unique journey, come on board! The island of Gran Canaria is always an excellent choice for spending holidays dedicated to relaxation and discovery.

Fuerteventura

Turquoise waters, paradisiacal beaches, water sports, unique gastronomy and cities and villages of extraordinary beauty. This is what Fuerteventura can offer you. Whether you are looking for a day trip, a boat trip or a week on board, renting a boat in Fuerteventura will give you a unique perspective of this island belonging to the Canary archipelago. The island of 100 volcanoes awaits you for an unforgettable sailing adventure. In May 2019 the island territory celebrated its tenth anniversary as a Biosphere Reserve according to UNESCO criteria. Also known as "The red island", it is one of the Atlantic islands preferred by travellers, especially in terms of tourist offers. Passionate about hiking? A tour to discover the desert is the one for you!

Lanzarote

Belonging to the archipelago of the Canary Islands and located in the most north-eastern part of the others, the island of Lanzarote is the third most populated after Tenerife and Gran Canaria. What better way to visit this magnificent island than with a boat rental in Lanzarote? Also known as the "island of volcanoes" and characterized by a subtropical climate with stable temperatures and little rainfall throughout the year, Lanzarote represents one of the main destinations for those who never want to give up sun, sea and pure relaxation! The island of Lanzarote is said to hold some of the most fascinating beaches in Europe. The arid and wild landscape of the island is in fact characterized by being covered in volcanic lava: a combination that gives life to deserted lands, small oases with palm trees and kilometre-long expanses of sand!

Las Palmas

By renting a boat in Las Palmas you can navigate the island far and wide, mooring to stop in the cities you want to discover. Among the many stops on the island we suggest you don't miss Puerto Mogán, also known as "Little Venice". Moor your boat here and relax as you stroll through its beautiful streets and well-kept gardens, enjoy its fine sandy beach, or immerse yourself in the culinary culture – success is guaranteed! In particular, Teror is worth exploring, one of the oldest places on the island, visiting the main square and the streets of the centre. In Las Palmas, however, you can visit the historic district to let yourself be won over by the authentic atmosphere of neighborhoods such as La Vegueta, with the Santa Ana Cathedral and the Vegueta Market. Lover of typical gastronomy? The Papas arrugadas (wrinkled potatoes) and the famous mojo will delight your palate!

La Gomera

The nearby island of la Gomera offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in a natural landscape of rare beauty and visit enchanting villages. Among the many experiences that can be had in La Gomera, some really cannot be missed: Visiting the Garajonay National Park; the village of El Cedro; Hemigua in the northern part of the island; the village of Agulo and its viewpoint over the ocean; and finally the village of Taguluche.

El Hierro

Finally, El Hierro is the smallest of the seven Canary Islands, unknown and wild, also a Biosphere Reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site. In particular, it is a paradise for lovers of diving, thanks to its crystalline waters and the seabed full of different species. An ideal destination especially for those who are looking for a different holiday dedicated to nature.
